ABOUT FOUNDER
REY TARZÁN
Born in California.
Reborn in the Jungles of Colombia.
I was born in California, United States. But the man I am today was born in the jungles of Minca, Colombia.
Before Ancestro, I was successful by nearly every conventional measure. I built businesses, worked in private equity and acquisitions, became a leading salesperson in the solar industry, and pursued opportunities across energy, real estate, and emerging ventures. By 23, I had become a millionaire. From the outside, I had achieved what I thought I wanted.
Yet something was missing. I had built a life around the world’s definition of success without fully understanding what it meant to live.

The Return
Everything changed when I immersed myself in the jungle.
For months, I lived barefoot and largely disconnected from modern technology, supermarkets, and the comforts I had always taken for granted. I learned through experience: walking across unfamiliar terrain, finding my rhythm in the natural environment, and discovering what happened when I gave my attention to the world around me.
At first, it was uncomfortable. The ground hurt my feet. The unfamiliarity brought uncertainty. But gradually, my body adapted. My balance changed. My senses became sharper. My relationship with food, movement, solitude, and the rhythms of nature began to transform.
I later spent additional time living alongside an Indigenous community, deepening my understanding of a way of life shaped by a different relationship with the natural world.
What began as an experience of physical immersion became something much more personal. My assumptions about identity, success, health, and spirituality began to fall away. Through solitude, nature, and experiences that challenged my previous understanding of life, I began to see myself and the world differently.
The Promise
I came to believe that human beings have become disconnected from something essential: our place within nature.
We are living animals, shaped by the environments in which we evolved. Yet many of us spend our lives separated from the natural world, surrounded by systems and habits we rarely stop to question.
I wanted to explore what it might mean to return—not by rejecting everything modern civilization has created, but by recovering the knowledge, awareness, and connection that can help us live more intentionally.
I made a promise to nature to dedicate my life to that exploration: to defend the natural world, help others reconnect with it, and build something that could outlive me.

The Birth of Ancestro
The years that followed were not a straight line toward success. They were a period of profound change, uncertainty, loss, and rebuilding.
The identity I had known no longer felt sufficient. The future I wanted to create was larger than the life I had previously imagined for myself.
Out of that transformation came Ancestro.
Not simply a company, but a philosophy and a growing ecosystem built around a central idea: that a better future begins when we remember our relationship with nature, take greater responsibility for how we live, and build systems that support both human flourishing and the living world.
That vision extends from renewable energy and regenerative places to the everyday products we use, the knowledge we share, and the communities we create.
The Work Ahead
I envision a world in which people have greater access to clean energy, nourishing food, thoughtfully made products, natural environments, and places where they can live in deeper connection with one another and the Earth.
I want future generations to inherit more than the systems we were given. I want them to inherit a world in which nature is not an afterthought, but a foundation of how we build, live, and grow.
Ancestro is my commitment to that possibility.
I don’t believe one person has all the answers, and I don’t believe there is a single path that every human being must follow. I believe there is value in asking better questions, learning from nature, sharing knowledge, and bringing together people who want to help build something better.
The work is bigger than me. That is precisely why it matters.

The Way Back
My name, Rey Tarzán, reflects the identity I chose to embody after that transformation: a return to the primal, the natural, and the essential.
Ancestro is the world I am working to build from that conviction.
It begins with something simple. Step outside. Feel the earth beneath your feet. Pay attention to the food you eat, the world around you, and the life you are creating.
Remember that you are part of nature.
And begin there.
